FAQ

Are there fees to open a file?

No, candidates are not required to pay any fees.

If Télé-Ressources places me on assignment, does this eliminate my chances of finding a permanent position?

Definitely not; as a candidate/employee on assignment, you have the opportunity to find a permanent job. We continue our search to find you one that matches your qualifications. You need to stay in regular contact with your counsellor.

Why is it important to stay in touch with Télé-Ressources?

Jobs are confirmed to us on a daily basis, so staying in regular contact allows you to always be aware of the positions that are available and that meet your career goals.

Why am I asked to undergo certain tests before the interview?

Whether for an assignment or a permanent position, we must present a company with a complete file of our candidates/employees. It is important to clearly identify your skills, particularly in terms of the different types of software and French and English grammars.

If I work on assignment on behalf of Télé-Ressources, is anything withheld from my wage in case I find permanent employment?

No, nothing is withheld from your hourly wage because it's the client-company that will pay the hiring fees and this will have no impact on your remuneration.

How do we get our pay cheques when we are on assignment for Télé-Ressources?

Every Friday you must fill out your timesheet and have them signed by the supervisor. We need to have received your timesheet before noon on Monday of each week, at the latest, to process your pay cheque. If the timesheet is late, it will automatically be processed the following week. All payments are done by direct deposit.

As soon as you begin your assignment, you must send us a cheque specimen to :

by mail :
Accounting Department
2021 Union, Suite 915
Montréal, (Québec) H3A 2S9

by fax :
(514) 842-0560

Payment is deposited into your account on Wednesdays at 11:30 p.m. If you choose not to use direct deposit, pay cheques will be available on Thursdays from 3 p.m. until Friday at 5 p.m. at our office's reception counter. Unclaimed cheques will be sent by regular mail.

In what way am I bound to the agency?

Our policy is as follows:

Our staff is referred or presented to a company through Tele-Ressources Staffing Services Ltd.  for a temporary assignment or for an interview for a permanent position within the 12 months following the presentation of the candidate or employee; a candidate or employee must advise Télé-Ressources that s/he will begin a temporary assignment or permanent position at that company. It is understood that when a company calls you back within 12 months from the date of your first assignment with them, you must immediately inform Télé-Ressources and we will ensure that proper procedures are followed.

Why is it important to update my CV?

Updating your curriculum vitae is very important. The more updated your file is, the easier it will be to find you a job that meets your professional goals.

How do I update my CV?

There are two ways to proceed:

  • You can do it online at jobs@teleressources.com and attach a copy of your updated CV;
  • Or e-mail your counsellor a note with the new version of your CV.

What is the policy if I work on a temporary assignment for Télé-Ressources and the client-company wants to hire me permanently?

As explained in our policy, the client-company that wants to hire you is aware that placement fees will be charged. These standards are very clear and well established with our clients and this does not affect you in any ways.

If my counsellor is away or on vacation, do I need to start the process over again with a new person?

No, your counsellor is responsible for ensuring the continuity of files.
