Below are five of the most important questions to ask a candidate in a job interview.<\/p>\n<h2>Why do you want to work here?<\/h2>\n<p>First and foremost, this question will allow you to know if the candidate did their homework. Are they familiar with the core values of your company and passionate about working there? This question is also an opportunity to learn more about the candidate\u2019s career goals, and if their values align with the company. <\/p>\n<h2>What career accomplishment are you most proud of?<\/h2>\n<p>Not only does this question allow the candidate to share a career highlight, but it also demonstrates how the candidate speaks of their work and themselves. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work while remaining humble. This question also shows what type of work the candidate is passionate about and what makes them feel fulfilled. <\/p>\n<h2>Why are you leaving your current employer?<\/h2>\n<p>How does the candidate speak of their former job and employer? Are they negative, or do they focus on the positive side by discussing their personal hopes for the future? There are many ways to answer this question, but only the positive responses will show professionalism and a respect for their employers. <\/p>\n<h2>Tell me about a work challenge you had to overcome?<\/h2>\n<p>This question is one of the best ways to understand how the candidate performs in real life situations. Employees are constantly faced with challenges, and how they come out on the other side is indicative of their willingness to learn, succeed and grow. <\/p>\n<h2>Where do you see yourself in 5 years?<\/h2>\n<p>A candidate\u2019s answer to this question will demonstrate their ambition, or lack thereof. Do they have a clear set of goals for their future? This is an essential asset to any employee at your company, especially if their goals align with working at your company.
