Below, are some of the most important components to any onboarding program.  <\/p>\n<h2>Create a Mentorship Program<\/h2>\n<p>Assign an established employee who will act as a mentor and guide to a new hire for their first few months at the company. Similar to a buddy system, this mentorship would give the new employee a reliable person to answer questions, show them around and welcome them with open arms. It\u2019s a great way to create meaningful connections within the company and help integrate the new hire on a more personal level. <\/p>\n<h2>Cover the basics\u2026 and more<\/h2>\n<p>Create a full-bodied onboarding system that covers everything the employee needs to know, no matter how long it takes. Often, onboarding programs are thrown together without much thought, and it results in a confusing and inefficient process. Take the time to create a strong program and consult with your employees. Perhaps they will have advice and takeaways from their own onboarding experiences that will help you solidify a well-rounded program. <\/p>\n<h2>Create a Follow-Up Program<\/h2>\n<p>Education and training should be a continuous part of an employee\u2019s career progression. Create a follow-up program, either 6 months or 1 year after they\u2019ve completed the initial onboarding process. Think of this as a level 2 of onboarding, where you can assess the effectiveness of the initial onboarding process and provide more advanced training depending on the employee\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<h2>Organize One-on-Ones for the New Hires<\/h2>\n<p>Schedule meetings for new hires with key staff members. These meetings provide an array of benefits for a new employee.
